Scott Doesn’t Do It, As Floods Strand TV Star

By MITCHELL SWARTZ Daily News TV Editor

Popular local TV personality Alan Scott returned home safely yesterday with his wife and two children after being stranded by flood waters in a small community near Stroudsburg for almost four days. He conducts the "Let Scott Do It!" show daily for WPTZ.

Scott said he was unable to get out of the area because of flooded roads, but by Sunday morning the waters had receded enough so he was able to drive out.

Scott lives at 918 Rock Creek Road, Bryn Mawr with Beam, and two children, Jeffrey, 9 and Jody, 2. His wife and children had been spending the summer in a cottage near Stroudsburg.

DROVE TO COTTAGE

Last Thursday he drove to the cottage with Dr. Arthur Brisken of Bryn Mawr to bring his family home. That night Scott and his family in their station wagon ran into a heavy rain storm. The car was stalled.

The next day he made eight attempts to drive out only to be turned back by flooded roads. On Saturday morning he saw Pete Boyle pinch hitting for him on his show. Scott saw the show in a neighbor's cottage.

TOLD ROAD OPEN

"It was a strange sensation watching Pete and hearing about my disappearance," Scott said.

On Sunday, Scott said, Civil Defense authorities told him one road was passable. He took it to Milford and then to Trenton.

WPTZ had hired three airplanes to search the stricken area for Scott.
